This is really odd. Just moved, thought I would set up my old Brother HL-2070N and nothing works.
I downloaded from Brother's website and older driver for the printer. It installs and yet when I go to Preferences and try to add a printer the only option I see is an HP printer (could it be picking up my neighbor's printer?)

I can't figure this one out.

Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Tell us which Mac you have.
Tell us which version of the OS you're using.

Something to try (no promises). You need an internet connection for this.
a. turn the printer off
b. go to system preferences, open "printers & scanners"
c. look at the list on the left. You want to DELETE EVERYTHING that's there
d. to delete, click on an item and then hit the "-" icon below.
e. once they're all deleted, TURN ON the printer
f. give it a minute or two to come "online"
g. now, click the "+" icon to ADD a new printer
h. does it offer you any print drivers now?
i. if so, install them and try to print something (you'll probably have to reset printer preferences, etc.)

Have you tired reseting the printer network interface, it may be using the old ip address.
