iOS How to install admob frameworks without cocoapods?

I would like to try to make an app with an advertizement inside it. I replicated this tutorial :

However Xcode tells me that there is a SIGAaBRT error somwhere in the Appdelegate.swift :
libc++abi.dylib: terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
(lldb)

Also I replicated their examples here for Swift code:

I just can't seem to find the problem. Any ideas?

Well, you say you used those resources, but I think it'd be much easier to troubleshoot if we can see your own code. - The point of the uncaught exception and anywhere else relevant from the call stack. Have you run through it with the debugger to see if all state is as you expect when you get to the exception?
