OS X How to make wired Xbox One controller work with Apple Arcade games?

I have a 2013 Mac Pro and it recognizes the USB wired Xbox One controller. However, when I play controller supported Arcade games, these games don't respond to the controller. Is there something that I should configure so that the controller can work with Arcade games?

As an example, Detonation Racing supports controller as shown below. However, when I play it, it only responds to the arrow keys on the keyboard. How do I use the controller?

I seem to remember that you need a driver to use the USB version of the xbox controller on a Mac. (at least that is what I had to install before I purchased the BlueTooth version of the controller).
