How to remove history from my iPad IOS10.3.3

To remove history i do the following:
I go te settings >Safari >Clear history and website data.
However when I thererafter select >Advanced >Website data, I still get a list of websites I used before.
No history is being removed!

What mistake do I make in this matter?
Info:
I have always updated to the latest IOS ( now: 10.3.3);
I think that my iPad is a '4th generation with Wifi only, made late 2012 (?)

You might synced History from iCloud. You could switch off Safari in iCloud, delete safari data in iCloud, and then clear history in settings.
