I have a macbook pro 2017 a1708 that is running mojave and I want to update to catalina as mojave doesn't have the apple video editor.

When I go to update software it only offers to update to ventura and I don't want to do that as it makes the macbook to run way too hot.

Just be aware that any Apps that are not 64 bit, won't work with Catalina.
Good to know thank you. I just bought it recently so it does not have any app yet. Is it a good idea to upgrade to 64bit or is it something that will make it eventually slower?
