Hello, I wanted to ask some others for help on using audacity to clear up a music track. I don’t have much experience with using the program and I have a music track that was recorded with painfully high treble. It’s so bad that I literally have to turn the treble down into the negatives while listening to it just for it to sound ‘normal’. Can anyone guide me in how to best to about this?

You'll get more control using the "Graphic EQ" so a quick step by step:

  1. Open the audio file.
  2. Menu item Effect>Graphic EQ…
  3. Make some minor adjustments on the high end side
  4. Click "Preview" button to listen
  5. Repeat #3 and #4 until it sounds right
  6. Click "OK" and the adjustments will be done to the file
  7. Export the file in the format you need
