Here's one that's a photoframe format (not portable):

Dreamy features
-Easily access content on your PCs and the Web via a simple menu
-Enjoy music, photos, and videos with HP MediaSmart software
-Control entertainment via an intuitive handheld remote control
-Turn it to landscape or portrait orientation with the included stand

Seems like that's where the industry is going...

Where the consumer electronics "industry is going" is not necessarily what consumers want. If Apple followed what the industry was doing, they would have a netbook and a tablet that runs Mac OS X.

Maybe where the photoframe industry is going. Not tablets - tablets are already ahead of this. This is like how eReaders are (kindle, Nook) to what is about to come.

The buttons may be capacative, but the screen isn't said to be.

Form factor - huge bezel. Too many hard buttons. non-capacative screen. Low resolution for it's size. Puny storage. 2 USB - you see USB on the iSlate? That's basically saying you don't see OS 4.0 iPhone on it, but something more like OS X.

6-in-2 Card Reader
Doesn't do 1000 LAN (but has a thick LAN port).
Doesn't do 802.11n. Does it do the internet? Have a browser? Do iCal files?
Oh, and it isn't Mac compatible ;)

To contrast to a 1st gen iPhone:
-Easily access content on your PCs and the Web via a simple [interface]
-Enjoy music, photos, and videos
-Control entertainment
-Turn it to landscape or portrait orientation...
