Anyone else having problems connecting to SSL sites via https in Safari 2.0?

Magically, I fixed the problem all by myself.

Copy the files

X509Anchors and
X509Certificates

from a Panther copy of /System/Library/Keychains

to your Tiger copy of /System/Library/Keychains

For some reason, these were not generated during the Tiger install. Once you perform this action, some ssl related problems (such as mine above, which also included ssl email I found out) go away.

Hope this helps someone out a bit.

Well, sorta - I can seem to connect to SSL servers that have "invalid" certs, but not others, such as http://www.mac.com ... which is odd. You need to be able to log in securely to mac.com in order to create a tiger .mac account.

Am I the only one with this difficulty? Is there some default keygen that never occurred?

If anyone else noticed - are the security options in the Safari debug menu dimmed out for anyone else?
