I am an AppleNews+ subscriber and when reading articles in the LA Times, sometimes, those article link to other LA Times articles, however, when I click the link, it opens in safari and hits the LA Time paywall.

How do I get it to / find where that article is in News?

Some publications, especially newspapers do that... you get the 'tease', but that's it. The only (legit) way to read the linked article is to subscribe to the publication outside of the Apple News+ app. Bait and switch/deceptive practices/call it what you will, but that's what you get.
