Hi
I want to buy a new video card for world of warcraft legion and i will take evga, since they have great products and the best customer service. But i am on a budget so i don't know witch evga to chose between evga gtx 1050ti sc or the ssc version, they are cheap price about 192(sc)-229(ssc)$ can (i am in Canada). I want to play at 1080p at max graphics, i don't want fps drops under 55 at least. If 1050ti is not enough i might wait for some more cash and buy a evga gtx 1060 3gb sc or the ssc. Price are 310$(sc) and 329$(ssc). But i heard acx 3.0 cooling have overheating problems on both 1050ti ssc and 1060 ssc version, is that true? So is the 1050ti will be ok? And by the way i not playing any other games on my computer only wow and diablo3. All my other big games are on ps4. So i am not planing more games in the future only wow.

I use a GTX 1060 and don't always get 60fps on ultra at 1080p, but that's in a laptop so it will be clocked lower and has a laptop CPU holding it back too (WoW is extremely CPU dependent, so make sure yours is decent before worrying about GPU). A GTX 1050 in a desktop with a desktop CPU might be okay, but not sure.

Also, Legion was a pretty big jump in specs required for ultra, you might get a 1060 just for future proofing the next expansion

Edit: That's on Windows obviously, OS X performance used to be 10-20% worse, but I don't know how it is with Metal around now

3.46 Six-core Intel Xeon W3690
32GB PC3-10600 1333Mhz DDR3 ECC Ram

Yeah I'm not really sure. Problem with WoW is that it doesn't use more than one or two cores very well so having so many won't help like it would with other applications. Maybe someone a little more familiar with Mac Pro CPU will give an answer.

GTX 1050 should be more than enough for 60fps on high/7 though

You may find that former Ethereum miners will be offloading their GPUs on e-bay over the coming month.
If you don't mind using a GPU that has been through some heavy use, then you should find a bargain there.

WoW is a bit like drakensang online https://www.drakensang.com/ - which I play, basically hack-and-slay. Drakensang is free to play, so if your computer is like mine, old but OK, should be no problem.

drakensang have absolutely nothing to do with Wow, that game have lower system requirement then Diablo 3, and D3 are easy to run... it can run on old computer.

I run it sometimes on the SuperMicro in my sig (same generation processors as MP 5,1 I think @3.10GHz) with GTX 1070. The system defaulted to 7 and I left it there. Playing on 4k monitor native. No problems.

Of course that is in Windows...
