My Mac Pro suddenly shut off and is now totally not responsive. I’ve tried the usual stuff like swapping RAM, resets etc but to no avail.

When I press the diag button some leds lit up, where can I refer to the codes?

Is there a way to easily transplant the SSD to my older 5.1?

I have the SSD adapter but I can’t make it boot because Catalina cannot run on my older 5.1.

Help...

Just add -no_compat_check to the boot-args of your MP5,1, it will boot Catalina:

Code:
sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check"

Needs SIP disable, pay attention with any typos entering the command.

A user here posted a version of the Apple Technician Guide for 2013 Mac Pro on a thread, a month or two ago.
