What do you mean when you say that it does it when it has demand placed on it? Only under heavy demand? If you make a copy of a large file or copy a large number of files into a new disk image (which are heavy hard disk demand in the sense that it's continuous disk activity, but not heavy CPU demand), does it do it?

When did it start doing it? And which hard drive do you have (do you have a 100 GB Seagate by any chance)?

I hope none of those are glib comments.... :rolleyes:
