Hmm . . .

When I plug it in, no light comes on, nor a charging sign in the menu bar.
It charged fine last night, and it's not an 'unplugged' plug or anything like that.

The only thing I can think of is that I had to turn it off (held button for few seconds) because it crashed, a short while before I noticed it.
Could that be to do with it?

Any help appreciated.

Mmm.. well that sounds somewhat like a dead adapter to me. When I got my iBook a while back, it had the same characteristics straight out of the box, so they replaced the adapter. Do you have another mac to try it on?

Afraid not, however I know that I could try a friend's iBook if need.
The wierd thing though is that I'm sure it was working earlier on. Strange . . .

w00t, I borrowed a friends and it worked!

However I'm amazed at the price of a replacement!
Shall I get the apple one? Or are there other decent ones on the market?

Haha yeh I know.

Anyone know any other companies that make them?
Would love to hear from anyone not using an Apple one!?
Because I've gotta cover my bases as well ;)

Could be time . . . Over a year and a half now, and heard of many people getting through them quickly?
Over-heated? Was doing a lot of stuff before it crashed?
To be honest I have no idea!

Going to check the fuse later to make sure it wasn't a surge.
That'll make things cheaper if it was ;)

But at least I know it was the adapter now, not the iBook itself :)

Why didn't I think of this to start with!
Tried it with another fuse, and it worked!

However, I've put in a 13A fuse (all that I could find), and the original was only a 3A one.
Would this be a problem?

I don't mind going out to buy new 3As as this is going to be chaper than a whole new adapter, but if it'll do no problems, I don't see the point of using a new one?
Sorry I have no knowledge of this kind of thing at all!
