Went to my local apple store (the biggest in my area) this morning to pick up a mini.
There was not a line at the store, but even though it was only 8:20 local time they had already sold out of the 16 and 32 GB white. Only had the 64GB
They had plenty in all sizes of black.
I talked to my small business rep asking what he expected the wait time was if I wanted a 16GB white. He called the 3 other stores in the area and they had already sold out out of the 16 and one store has 2 32GB left.
His DM then told him that past this initial release, the white was going to be hard to come by for awhile and that the stores should be telling customers late November.
This may or may not be accurate, but my rep has been spot on in the past with other stuff (iPhone5, retina macbook pro) so take it for what it's worth
