Guys, my church managed to mangle the power button on their iMac. I bought a replacement chassis and the repair is going smoothly except one thing.

I cannot remove the hinge mechanism from the molding on the old chassis. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Please see attachment photo. Thanks!

Did you lock the mechanism BEFORE you removed the stand?
Maybe you removed the stand without locking that mechanism, and now it's just jammed in place.
If you did that properly, and no difficulty when you removed the stand, and you have removed all the screws, you should be able to just lift that mechanism out, ready to transfer to your replacement back cover.
