I am on a 2009 iMac knowing enough not to mess with such a fragile thing. Just ordered it’s replacement so I got a bit brave. I opened the RAM cover, took out the original RAM (I have only updated the HHD), and cleaned everything. It was awful! Put it together and now it just beeps at me!!! I thought I knew all the catastrophic noises and signs. Never experienced this!

HELP!!! Its replacement won’t be here for another two weeks. And I was hoping to use it as an extra monitor

any ideas?

thanks

Thanks all, I just got especially worried when I heard that beep. I have never heard that before. Additionally, my power button got stuck pressed in. Thankfully that was just a one-off weird thing. I tried the rest of the night to reset and clean, clean, clean to no avail. Fortunately I found some new sticks that fit for cheap. This old thing lives again!!!! I am using it for this note!!!
