Hi guys,

I've been running a late 2009 27" iMac with a Samsung 840 SSD (replacing the SuperDrive) on Sierra. I've had persistent problems for a while booting up to the 'prohibitory' symbol. Usually a second or third restart eventually boots successfully. Running Disk Utility reports no errors. I was unable to find a solution to this problem. A clean install usually did the trick for a while but it would then reoccur.

I've just installed High Sierra successfully but after installing Little Snitch and rebooting I'm hitting the prohibitory sign again. The iMac boots into a Sierra recovery partition but this is unable to see the drive as it's formatted with APFS now.

Any ideas...

1) How can I create a High Sierra recovery partition on one of the other HD's in the iMac?
2) Shouldn't a 10.13 recovery partition have been created on the SSD in the first place?
3) Could Little Snitch be causing the 'prohibitory' boot issues?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks
