iMessages Saying Unsent but Sent

I am sending text messages through the apple watch and all imessages that I send say "Unsent Message" through the watch even though they actually show sent on the iphone. Regualr text messages seem to work fine. Does anyone else have this issue? Note that ot's just text, no images.

I have noticed this sporadically happening. Not anything regular, but I have gotten some notifications that something didn't send and noticed later with my phone that it had. I've only noticed it when I'm at work, where my cell reception isn't the greatest.
