I know it is supposed to be a sealed unit, but I recall seeing an article in MacUser (UK) about how to open the MacMini using a paint scraper blade, and adding more ram. I have a 1.42 with 512mb, but now wish I had added more at the time of purchase.

Any thoughts as to whether this can be done, anyone, or are there any software tricks, such as the old Ram-doubler?

Great article with nice pics -

Any ideas about what 1 gig dimm module is needed, and how much it would cost?

Also, any guesses as to what would my old 512 module we worth to anyone?

The economics of all this are critical as to whether to bother or not . . .

Cheers,

I think that the Mini uses PC2700 RAM, I'm not sure, but you can get a 1GB stick for around $60 on newegg.com. As far as selling the old one goes, I'd try to eBay it, saying that it's from a Mac Mini, and you'll probably get more that way.
