Does anyone have this type of unit? I am a photographer and would like to setup an offsite storage that I could back up to regularly. Could I plug this into a cable modem at another location and upload files to it with backup software? Is the Infrant significantly better than the Buffalo Terrastation? Thanks.

If you need offsite backup, you're best off going for one of the Internet-based backup services.

If you're going to do it yourself, you'll need a cable modem/router with a fixed IP, or a DynDNS account. If you're going to use the supplied backup software, you'll need a VPN connection so the router will need to support VPN connections to it. Alternatively you can use FTP which would be simpler. Either way, an internet-based remote backup service is going to be much less hassle to use, and you'll also have access to previous versions of the file, etc.
