I've tried to troubleshoot this from forum posts on Yosemite and the workarounds aren't helping using terminal and diskutil commands. For the upgrade to 10.11 I get the following error on the install:

"This Core Storage operation is not allowed on a sparse logical volume group"

Anyone run in to that and found a way around it for El Cap upgrades?

Well, I'm afraid I am getting the same message. Developer account in place. Any fix? no one else is getting this message? Thanks a lot for your help

Just an update that there are several threads on the developer forums trying to figure this out as well. So far I don't see a clear path forward. It may require a full format and install.

thanks, the thing is that I've never created another volume.

decided to erase the installer and when trying to download it again: "this code has been redeem already"

something is not working very well...
