**SOLVED**

There were two Desktop folders. ugh, I should've known.

Here's what I noticed. After installation on a MBP 2018, during setup, you're presented with Turn on Screen Time, etc., or use the little link at the top for Set Up Later, it froze for the longest time. Then after a timeout, I got the choose logon screen with my two accounts. When I setup in another account, i chose Set Up Later and everything worked smoothly with my Desktop just as it was. But in the other account, my Desktop is empty. Assuming it was stored in the cloud, it still hasn't appeared.

Yes, i did do a backup prior to installation. While it was installing, i forgot to unplug my TM backup disk. When I enter TM, there are several backups listed, but nothing appears in the backups.

Thoughts?
