Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of an issue. This morning I downloaded beta 1 of El Capitan, started installing it. It then froze, and now I'm stuck on the apple logo with the loading bar. It goes half way, but that's about it.

I've tried option + r, used disk utility to repair disk permissions to no avail. Still, the same issue persists.

Is there any way of going back to my previous yosemite, in effect just cancelling the El Capitan installation?

I understand that I could just re-install yosemite and then restore my files with time machine, but I just wanted to see if there is a way around it.

Thanks

You may wait for the loading process. As far as I know, there is no way to return to previous Yosemite if the El Capitan installation had been finished. So if the loading process is still for ever, you must re-install Yosemite start anew.
