Hi,

I just had my HDD replaced by with an EVO 860 SSD, and intended to use only the Evo & just ignore the 128Gb drive. However the Company who did it re-fused the new Drive with the Apple 128 GB SSD re-creating a Fusion Drive. Unfortunately this produces a drive where you cannot add any partitions, install BootCamp, or reformat to APFS (Seems to be a recurring problem when fusing two SSD's as I have read online). The Company in question is some way away, & I have read that the splitting is quite straightforward:-

The only part that is not clear to me is after Formatting, if the reinstalling of Sierra from a Bootable USB drive is straightforward (I have one prepared), as during the end formatting, the Recovery Partition is also removed . Would appreciate it if anyone could walk me through those final steps
