A few days ago my iMac internal speakers stopped playing any sound. I have updated to iOS Sonoma but that was a few weeks ago so don't think I can blame that.

I haven't changed any settings or plugged in any other external devices to my Mac.

Obviously, I have checked the mute button and it is not that. I have checked sound settings and it is showing the Mac built-in speakers in the output box and output volume is midway. I have tried turning the output volume up to max but this makes no difference.

My Mac is a 27" 2020 model.

Any other suggestions?

I thought of that shortly after posting. That did the trick, thankfully. I tried deleting my post but couldn’t find the delete button, only edit. Thanks for responding, appreciate it.
