is it worth updating or staying with 12.1.2? opinions?
Well, Group FaceTime has an issue in 12.1.2 and is disabled server-side. And then whatever 12.2 offers isn't there. So depends on what might be "worth it" for you.

Just gonna give my personal opinions here, after installing io 12.2 phone is a little more slower and battery consumption is more intentsive.

Is Apple still signing for 12.1.4? Usually there is window (1-4 weeks) for users who still want to update to the 1 version older than the newest one.
If this is possible, go for it as 12.1.4 has fixed group FaceTime security and Apple hasn’t put US-only features like news+.

I updated to 12.1.4 just few hours before release 12.2. It’s quite stable, fast, cold, battery is good (but not as good as 10.3.3 where I upgraded from).

My battery is just fine with 12.2. I did a restore from iCloud backup before upgrading and everything is running perfect.

Seems like iOS 12.1.4 is no longer being signed as of today: https://www.macrumors.com/2019/04/04/apple-stops-signing-ios-12-1-4/
