tvOS 15.6 (for the Apple TV), solves at long last the infamous Atmos issues that have been so prevalent the last few months, and audioOS 15.6 (for the homepods), fixes completely the Apple Music lossless playback issues (popping, scratching, and so on).


As for IOS, yes 15.5 is quite solid.

I can see where you could have suffered from annoyances, and eagerly awaiting 15.6 👍

I just want to get the final release so I can make a backup and move onto the 16 beta.

You can do that with the release candidate. Even if there were another RC or the publicly released version were a few builds higher, you could still restore to it.

From an encrypted backup to my Macbook? If so I probably will. Didn't investigate that much since I expected the 15.6 release was around the corner...

You can always restore older backup onto newer versions of iOS like 15.6 RC2 backup onto anything released after 15.6 RC2 be it RC3 or iOS 16 even. It's the contrary that wouldn't work.

Ok, I´ll ask the question: Do you think there will be another IOS 15 release BEFORE the IOS 16 final release?

So if anything comes at all before IOS 16, it will be a 15.6.1 or something like that, no?

I’m sure they could do something like this. As I recall that was a zero user-feature release and got its designation as a minor (as opposed to a point) release due to API changes necessitated by the nearly concurrent release of 15.0.

Yes.

Maybe some bugfix tertiary releases, but I think even those will only get released for iOS 16-unsupported devices.
