So I listen to audiobooks on my iPhone quite a bit, and with the recent change to move audiobooks from the music app to iBooks I've been having some issues with the app remembering playback position. Happens about 25% of the time; can't replicate it 100% of the time but happens a couple of times a week and it's getting pretty annoying.
Here's an example:
- start listening to audiobook (for example starting at the 1 hour mark)
- listen for about 30 minutes, then stop
- start the audiobook again a couple hours later; sometimes starts the 1hr mark (incorrect position), and sometimes starts at the 1hr30 mark (remembering the correct position)
Never goes back to the start of the audiobook or to a random position. If it does happen, it always tends to forget the last listening session. Phone is not jail broken.
