I upgraded to iOS17 last night and now when i open the wallet app on my phone it says "Apple Pay requires an update on this iPhone". This morning when i opened the wallet app for the first time i got email alerts from my credit cards saying my cards have been removed from Apple Pay.
Things i have tried:

Logging in/out of iCloud
Re-installing the wallet app
Wiping and restoring

Anyone else run into this before?

.. there's a pretty good chance reinstalling the iOS 17 firmware will fix the issue.

Appreciate the suggestion, but FYI, it doesn't fix it - just wastes a lot of time and effort.

My OH only discovered that her Wallet had been emptied of payment cards when going to pay for petrol / gas that she'd already put in her car. When trying to add cards back again, it shows the same error message as the OP had.

This needs a software fix from Apple.
