iPad iPad 2 with IOS 4.3.5, can I upgrade to 5.0.1?

I just bought an iPad 2 with iOS 4.3.5 on it, I want to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 so I can jailbreak it, but every time I try to do the upgrade I get an error saying "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

Even if I put it in DFU mode I get an error.

Any idea how I can upgrade to 5.0.1?

Update: As of March 8, 2012 at 6PM [EST], Apple is no longer signing 5.0.1 (9A405/9A406)

best bet is probably just to upgrade to 5.1 and wait for a JB. No use in waiting around. Thats what im doing with my friends ipad
