iPad Pro iPad Air 12.9 vs iPad Pro M1/2

Hey guys, I need your help.
I want to buy a present for my gf and as she’s a musician she needs the 12.9 tablet.
The question is: is it worth buying iPad Pro M1/2 now or wait for March till the Air 12.9 released?
Do you think about price difference? Will old Pros be discounted in march?

Old pros should be discounted. New pros will probably get M3 but M2 is already huge overkill for basically everyone. If budget is less of a concern I would suggest a pro for her use. An M2 pro would be great for her.

It's hard to say because for now the 12.9" iPad Pro is a hypothetical but the best option would be to wait until the rumored March timeframe to see what they release. If it is like the iPad Air it will be more than enough for the average user who wants a bigger screen. And if not, the previous generations iPad Pros will be on sale. I was able to get a 2021 M1 12.9 iPad Pro with 1TB (16GB RAM) and 5G for $1199.99 at Best Buy earlier in 2023. Great deal and a device I will use for many years.
