How long is the iPad mini 6 taking to charge for everyone?

I put mine on charge at 9am this morning and it didn’t charge at all for the first 30 minutes or so, and it is currently at 90% now after 4 hours… is this normal? Any reason why it didn’t charge at all for the 1st 30 mins?

I am using the included cable and 20w power adapter

I wonder if it really was charging the entire time from the start, but for some reason recorded that it started charging after an hour and a half. That way, the angle of charge wouldn't be as steep, but more gradual if it started at the initial plug in.. I have a Mini 6 and never seen it do that myself.

Yeah I have spoke to Apple and they have said there is likely an issue with the port and to return it for replacement so to go on the side of caution I think that’s what I am going to do just in case I have more problems later down the line

Before returning the device, I’d give it a reboot and try a different charger/cable if you have one. I’ve had some weird behavior fixed by a volume up, volume down, hold power till reboot.

I wonder if the mini 6 does optimized charging like the iPhone. That or what exact conditions trigger kiosk mode.

Personally, I use a RAVPower USB-C charger connected to a smart plug and set a 1-1.5hr timer. Initial charging is always at full speed (seems like 20W max for mini 6) and it slows down as the battery fills up.

The image from the OP looks more like a linear low speed charge (maybe at 5-10W?).

My first thought was - after plugging in my iPhone and iPad - they will often sit at the same % for about 5-10 mins as the real charge state rises to match what Apple’s % states (usually 2-5% above actual charge). But that’s a good chunk of time, so dunno.
