iPad iPad OS 17.3 External Keyboard Fail

Ever since installing iPad OS 17.3 on my iPad Pro 11”, every time I used Safari with my Apple Smart Keyboard, Safari hangs and has to be closed and reopened - and then the same thing happens again.

Seems to happen mainly if I type in the search bar.

Everything fine without the keyboard. Anyone else have this issue and any thoughts how to resolve?
