No problem. I even charge my "old" XR (which is quick-charge enabled) with my USB-C 44W charger and this is a lot quicker. They only withhold that 18W charger for the cheaper phones....

Yes you need the USB-C to Lightning cable because only USB-C can deliver that amount of Watt.
