iPhone 11 Pro iphone 11 pro battery: is it possible that after 2 years it is still at 99%?

hello everyone, I was looking for a used iphone 11 pro and came across a phone that would still have 99% battery, although the seller states that:
- the phone has been used very little by the wife (but cmq constantly in everyday life) for about 2 years
- the battery has NEVER been replaced and it would still be the original apple battery.

The question is: does this seem plausible to you?

My doubts are that:
- the battery indicator is faulty
- something is not right.

I say this because all the other iphone 11 pro i find either had the battery replaced or under all between 80 and 89% battery....

Without wanting or being able to say anything about the iPhone 11 Pro that you came across, I do think that it is possible for such a Phone to still have 99% battery capacity. I say this based on my experience with my Xs Max, which I bought in January of Febr. 2019. I came from the more pocketable X which I had kept and also continued to use every few months for a few weeks or longer. Now my iPhone X and Xs Max still have their first battery at 93% and 97% respectively.

My mom’s iPhone 6 still has 89% battery capacity, never replaced. Upgrading because some of her apps don‘t work and she needs a bigger screen.

It is possible. I have an iPhone SE from 2017 and the battery was 100% in 2022. The thing wasn’t used so the battery never degraded. It developed a fault though so would drain 50% faster than a new battery and gave false readings. I had it replaced with an aftermarket battery which has brought the phone back to its original battery levels.

Bear in mind when the phone is reset the battery indicator is reset too. It’s possible but after a couple of weeks of using the phone the battery percentage will calibrate and it will probably be lower than that. I talk from experience here.

I would ask the seller is that percentage before or after factory reset?

My six year old iPhone 6 Plus battery health is at 93% (according to coconut Battery) and I used it continuously for that time. Kept the charge between 40-80%.

its possible that its true and also at the same time untrue...the easiest way to see if it has been replaced or not is frist to buy it then bring it to the repair shop and open it up.

If that is genuinely your charging protocol, I have no doubt that your battery health is actually at 98% lol.

Definitely possible. How/Why? If you use a 3rd party tool you can see how much from design capacity your phone is. Some of my iPhones have come WAY over provisioned from the factory (up to 110+%). This means it can take years for them to fall under 100% of design capacity. Most of my iOS devices have come 104%+ of design capacity. This means they show 100% for years sometimes before dropping below 100% capacity.

that’s entirely not true. While there can be a recalibration, it doesn’t go back to 100%. Starts where it left off

It will show 99% but it's not really 99%. Happens with iPhones that are rarely restored or updated.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max battery health was at 98% before I traded it in few weeks back. It was bought on launch week. Always left it plugged in whenever I was around a power outlet, also plugged in overnight and driving around (CarPlay.)

That’s some awful battery drain my iPhone 14 came with 200% capacity and a week later it’s up to 250% with heavy use
