All of my night mode photos on my Iphone 11 Pro have green dots. Sometimes there is just one green dot and sometimes there are several green dots. Is this common for Night Mode? I took same pictures with Iphone 7 and there are no green dots.

In my first trials, I’ve seen some of that in darker sky areas. The dots themselves are noise, the greenish cast could be from a number of reasons. Take a look at the sky in this really bad grab shot that I took on night 1. If that’s what you’re seeing, it’s noise. Zoom in if you need to.

Lens flare?

Not so much in my image, the stuff in the sky is classic noise. That doesn’t mean that there’s no lens flare, but it isn’t obvious. There’s some haloing around lights, but doesn’t look like flare to me.

Noise is caused by low signal, IOW, not enough light. You could reduce it by putting the camera on a tripod and exposing much longer.

I wasn't saying your picture has lens flare, I'm guessing OP's picture has lens flare.

The first photo below you can clearly see the green dot in the middle of the screen. The second photo has 6 small green dots on the parking space. Very frustrating. My iPhone 7 does not do this. I am within my 14 day window so will exchange for another phone tomorrow. Perhaps someone knows if this is common for night mode.

would be helpful if you have images to show for it.

I’m also confused why there are green dots in the picture

If you take a look at the pattern of the dots on the sweater, they're a mirror image of the highlights of the candelabra reflecting in the mirror. It's a classic example of a cheap SLR lens, but likely unavoidable in a tiny smartphone lens.
The dots on the sweater are ghost images of the candelabra reflected on the inner lens elements and bounced back to the sensor.

If you look at the other photos posted previously, for every green dot in the photo, there's a coresponding bright light source with the same shape somewhere else in the photo.
The reason the dots of light are green has to do with the color of the coating on the lens

this green dot happens in iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, etc....
Apple, wake up.
Never seen that with my old iphone 8 plus, but now after upgrading to the 12 pro max I get a lot of these lense flares / dots. So annoying.

Yeah lens flare / ghosting because of not well coated optics. If the optics that these cameras have were coated with nano coating like with Nikon lenses, we won’t have this issue. So extra edits on your and our part is to clone them out in Lightroom or the retouch app.
