iPhone 13 Mini
iOS 15.6.1

I have an issue with battery drain over night.
It looses between 7% - 8% over night (8 hours)

It seems that there is nothing in the background that is using a significant amount of energy.
Is this normal to the small battery or is there something going on?

It happened a couple of times for me last week randomly. I’ve no idea why. Perhaps turn on Low Power mode even you sleep.

Overall I am not very happy with the performance.
I am now at 35%

1 hour of YouTube drained 20%
This seems pretty much compared to the stats that other users reports…

You’ve to put things into perspective. 13 mini has a decent but not great battery life. I’ll be more concerned with the idle drain than the usage drain in your case.

That is poor battery performance but your status bar shows the GPS antenna active and only 1-bar of cellular - were you data streaming off a weak cellular signal?

Here’s an example ~2:10 of wifi streaming video (of which 1:43 is YouTube) using ~15% battery.

iPhone battery performance is highly tunable for both efficiency and service lives, if folks want, and IME Apple SOT specs are realistically attainable on mostly wifi and with efficient apps. 13Mini specs 17hrs SOT - that’s 1 hour more than my 3yo phone.

1 bar of cellular reception (about what I get at home), if left overnight, can account for that battery drain alone… does your service provider all for free wifi-calling? Again GPS antenna partially active there.

Thanks for all the respond.

The Streaming was at first at wifi connection but i recognized later that the connection was interrupted and it uses 4G with 1-bar for the streaming.
The phone also gets significant warmer during that.

At Home i only have 1-bar cellular but the phone is connected to good wifi.
But my provider doesn‘t offer wifi calling.

I will have a look at the GPS antenna thing and try to leave the phone in flight mode to check if the idle drain is better.
Or try to charge overnight with optimized charging

The smartphone was used for less than 12 hours, constantly spending time with it. Nothing unusual.

My 13 Pro in 12 hours = 4.5-5 hours of screen time. And if 24 hours = 3 hours of of screen time.
I've been experiencing 3 hours of screen time in a day of 14 hours. I've today swapped my iPhone as I suspect that there was something wrong with the device. Let's see how it turns out.

Replaced iPhone due to low battery life? My Apple Store said that they don't have a specific battery life test diagnostic, so this is not a defect and a reason to replace the device...

Nah not at apple store, different store here in NL. It's a little better now but not much. Not sure if I'm trying to see it.

I’ll just add my complaint here. iPhone 13 Pro, now 11 months old. I’ve posted in this thread back many months ago. Battery life has never been as expected. I usually see a decrease of 50% battery with ~2”3?hrs of screen time. Have wiped and started over, reinstalled iOS from IPSW.

Currently traveling. Overnight battery declined from >70% to 39%. Culprit this time appears to be FindMy, which was a problem in the past. There always seems to be something draining faster than expected, and not necessarily the same cause.

Pretty happy I kept this phone. Hopefully the 15 brings more to the table. :)
Indeed, same here. Seems Apple have a pattern of doing one year big battery improvements and then slight regression the following year and then nice jump the year after that, lol.
So 15 Pro Max should be quite the nice jump from this year where they seem to have gone back a little.
