Currently I am using 12 pro max with 256Gb and subscribe Apple one with 200Gb. So, my storage shows around 167Gb free space in iPhone. So, I think I may go for 256Gb again. In 13 and 14 pro res videos were not possible with 128Gb version. So, I would suggest you to choose 256Gb version.

Everyone will answer according to their needs, so the question doesn't make much sense. People are crazy about having more storage. I'm taking 2x 15 Pro 128 GB with shared 200 GB and this should be enough. But I'm using OneDrive (1 TB) additionaly to backup my files.

There is no way I would pick 10 years of 50GB iCloud storage over 256GB. Your data is yours to manage, not by a company that can erase them without notice.
