Resolved iPhone 3G "systemShutdown false"

hey guys, my friend jailbroke his iPhone 3G and it worked but then he tried to unlock it but now it is showing all these weird words but after everything is said and done, it displays "systemShutdown false." any ideas how to fix this?

edit; if i put it into DFU mode, all it shows is low batteries and that it needs to be charged

This is a while ago, But how did you end up solving this problem? I have an iphone 3gs, never been jailbroken, Keeps showing script then SystemShutdown False and Battery Low, Wont go into DFU mode ( Sometimes will), Is never recognized by itunes ??? Any idea >?
