Carrier iPhone 4 on VZW can not receive Emergency Alerts

I read many threads where some people were not able to find the settings to toggle on/off of the Gov. emergency alerts and after further searching I found this..

So this appears to be the reason why iPhone 4 users on VZW can not find the where to turn on this feature.

I believe it is only supported on the 4S/5 on US carriers.

The weird thing is that the alerts were available on the iPhone 4 for AT&T very briefly. They sent one carrier update that enabled it and another a week later that disabled it. During the week that alerts were enabled I did get one flash flood alert on my iPhone 4.
