Is it correct to assume that I cannot restore an iOS 16 iTunes backup to iOS 17?

Pretty sure I can only do iCloud restore but wanted a confirmation.

Pretty sure you have it backwards. You can restore from older. But not the other way around.

Cool. I knew that backward compatibility limitation but assumed both directions had a limitation.
