Hi all!
I am no U.S citizen, but I'll be coming over just in time for the launch of the 3G iPhone. Yes, iPhones will be available in my country, but I'm not planing, in any case, to pay all the money for the monthly data fee.

Let's suppose I walk into the (crowded) At&t store on July 11. What kind of info do I have to give them in order to get the iPhone (e.g ID, credit card, etc)? What do I need to do in order to get rid of the imposed carrier fees? Can I just call them up and tell them my phone was tossed into open ocean? Will they accept that kind of an excuse (what do people do, who really get into this kind of situation?)
If any of this sulutions are possible, will I have to pay a cancellation fee?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I thought about using cash or a prepaid credit card and when they were about to activate it (after I had paid for it of course) grabbing it and just walk out the door with it.
