iPhone app 4 equipment database?

I noticed renting some equipment from a Rental house all their equipment had QR code stickers on them and that got me thinking..

I am wondering if there is an app for the iPhone that I could create a database of all my equipment with accompanying QR code labels that I could then scan on location via the iPhone using QR codes? A lot of times I have many many pieces of equipment on location that I want to keep track of so not to leave anything behind once I leave.

In advance let me express my appreciation for any suggestions or advice on equipment databases to use in conjunction with the iPhone
