iPhone 6(S)/Plus iPhone erase question

Got a water damaged iPhone 6s, dead will not turn on. I want to sell for parts, concerned that if I sell it and it is repaired they can access my info if turns on.

If I select erase on iCloud, but then I remove from account . Does that erase order still activate after iPhone is repaired, or does it not occur because I removed iPhone from iCloud?

Being that concerned with security I wouldn’t sell an unbootable device.

The data is encrypted and cannot be retrieved without the key, which only you can unlock. It’s safe to sell.
