Hi

Wondering if anyone else is having similar problems.

iPhone 12 (was replaced by Apple a few months ago). Running extremely slow and the following:

Photo thumbnails in Photos disappear daily (just grey squares and each photo thumbnail downloads one by one). Every Single Photo.

Safari favourite icons re-downloading each time.

Safari struggling with random blank pages, requiring a swipe up and close several+ times per day

Typing is really slow. Literally typing and the screen freezes and seconds later the key animation goes super fast and the letters catch-up. Certain keys don’t respond at times.

Swipe up to close Apps really glitchy and jerky

Slow UI, the interface is literally doing the “Robot”, with super slow opening and closing apps

Battery Health has gone from 100% to 93% in three months (not sure if that’s related…)

Screen randomly dimming

Volume UI on screen randomly appearing

Volume randomly going super quiet

Bit of Info:

Been happening for 3 months, getting worse by the day
Latest iOS
Personal device, no MDM or other “profiles”
40GB free space
Have done a “Reset All Settings”
Have restored to new
Deleted a bunch of Apps
Reviewed any potentially suspicious Apps (none tbh)
No physical damage (in mint condition)
iPhone never gets hot, not even warm
Happens on different Wi-Fi networks
Disabled the attention aware feature

I know iPhone 12 is getting old now but I have one for work and it’s lightning fast.

Sounds stupid, but is it possible the flash storage is on its way out?

For anyone who can remember… it feels like Windows XP on 256MB of RAM (chuckles)…

My iPad Air 2 is slowly becoming more responsive than this thing, and iPad Air 2 is slow these days…

I have active AppleCare+. Next steps are to get this thing swapped out.

Any help appreciated.

I’m seeing the Safari blank page issue multiple times a day. It’s super frustrating.
I don’t have any of the other issues though.

You tried...

  • Turning off content blockers.
  • Clearing cache and website data.
  • Closing and reopening Safari.
  • Restarted the phone
  • Disable antivirus or software that does similar stuff?

Does it happen no matter what network you are on?

Yes to all of the above. Most of that would also be covered by restoring as new. It’s not just Safari.

OK, so this is clearly a bug and not specific to my device.

For me, it’s when going “back” in quick succession. Sometimes Safari can’t keep up with my actions. That said, I don’t know why Safari displays a blank page opposed to holding the current page whilst loading…

Thanks!
