No particular guesses as to the cause yet, but here are some isolation testing to do when it happens again that could help with diagnosis:
  • Switch to speakerphone. Does audio come back?
  • If possible, switch to Bluetooth or wired headphones. Does that clear it up?
  • Note the connection type while it’s happening - 5G, LTE, Verizon Wi-Fi, etc.
  • Note the physical location when it happens.

I have the new SE on Verizon and the connection doesn't seem as good as the iPhone 11 I had...
