What would you think about the upcoming SE 3 with this specs:

- iPhone XR body dimensions
- iPhone XR 12 MP back camera
- iPhone 12/13 5G support
- iPhone 13 Notch Size
- iPad Air 4 FaceTime HD 7MP front camera
- iPad Air 4/Mini 6 Touch ID
- iPad Mini 6 A15 Bionic processor
- NEW 5.9” Liquid Retina Display (to keep it like iPad Air 10.9” is to 11” Pro)
And all the other specs same as iPhone XR

In less words: iPhone XR with A15 5G, Touch ID and different front

Maybe a $449 price would be fair as the 11 is retired and the current SE drops to $329 matching 9th gen iPad

You’re talking about the SE4.

I think the XR/11 chassis is a given because SE is based on economies of scale.

The display should be smaller than 5.8” to increase bezel thickness. Strange, but think about it. Without a notch, it will look too premium and compete with the 12 and 13.

Hey mate, hope all is well, you picking up the new SE? or did you end up buying a android phone? ??
No still got my 12 mini, though I might pick up the new SE as a back up iphone. When Macrumours did their article on the new Galaxy S22 phones, I was waiting for your lovely comments about them lol. The new Tab 8 range aint bad at all though to be fair.

I've retired myself from the android forums lol.

Might keep my 13 pro max until apple release a 8" foldable iPhone, hopefully before 2030. ??‍♂️

Might pull the trigger on the redesigned SE next year and use it as a beta testing phone.

The galaxy tab ultra is flexing big times. ?

If it has the same size I expect it will have a bad battery performance like the SE2. Even if they add the A15 Bionic it will not be a longrunner. And then there will also be 5G.

I had the SE2 for about 2 Months as Business Phone mainly for Calls and a few Mails. My battery was dead every evening. Sometimes even before. Now I use a 12 Mini as Business Phone which has also not the best battery life but is much better.

I would like it to mirror an iPhone 8 Plus.

The biggest problem with the SE is the abysmal battery life. can't even imagine how much worse it will be with 5G support. I hope they announce a massive battery increase, otherwise this is dead on arrival

I hear the A15 chip is far more efficient than the A13 inside the SE2020. Even the A14 in the 12 is a power hog. I am tempted to “upgrade” but it doesn’t make much sense to me. I have to be rational.

I'm more curious about the $299 price. If Apple really can push it that low, then many people might turn a blind eye on the abysmal battery life.

seriously, as efficient that A15 is, you cannot go far with a paltry 1800mAh battery. Look at the iPhone 13 mini. The A15 AND larger battery only give it marginally better battery life than the 12, and that's with a 2400mAh battery. The SE will basically be a 13 mini with just 75% of the battery, and less efficient LCD screen.

But $299 can be a head turner. Cheapest (non-subsidized) iPhone ever, who cares about the battery life. :D

It’s $429… around the price point I was expecting.

Basically an iPhone 6SSSSS. I know some, or many, will dislike my take on it but seriously unless someone is sensitive to PWM or cannot live without Touch ID, I can’t see why they wouldn’t spend the extra and get a mini.

I didn’t hear any mention about MagSafe which is a feature I am interested in. Unsure if it’s compatible but yeah, they’ve really milked this old chassis! The SE3 will be the last appearance of the 6 chassis so it’s the definitive version of this style of phone.

$30 more for an A15 nuke of an SOC? That's a bargain.

Don't know if it's fair to compare the two phones like that.

That's like saying $100 more for an iPhone 13 vs. the 2007 iPhone gets you retina display, front-camera, A15, HD video.

If someone is looking for a new phone, wouldn't that be relevant? Why would you want to be fair comparing the same company's phones?

It’s not fair because the SE2 will either be removed from the lineup or go for a massive discount once the SE3 is available.
