iPhone SE (2016) iPhone SE 32gb memory differences

A minor query looking for an explanation please.

My SE 32gb shows in settings-general-about that I have 2.08gb available but on iTunes the bar at the bottom of the screen shows that I have 4.46gb free after synching.

Why the difference and which is correct ?

Any advice appreciated.

From what I can tell, iTunes doesn't include storage used as cache in their calculations.

Actual storage currently used on the device, Settings-General-About is correct.

If you do backup and restore via iTunes, then the iTunes free space is correct because that gets rid of all the unnecessary cache files.
