I'm planning on getting a 13 mini after the release of the iPhone 14 this year. I want the mini size and I don't mind being a year behind the curve in all honesty, so I'll wait until the price comes down. Question is, I currently have an 8 Plus and am planning on trading it in. I believe the 8 is the oldest phone they accept for trade in credit now. Will they still accept them post-14 release do we think?

I'd keep it, still works just as well as the day I bought it, but I'm getting really sick of the size of it now and just want something smaller. If there was a 14 mini planned, I'd go for that, but I can't see it happening.

Looks like the oldest phone you can trade in on the UK Apple site is the iPhone 7. I think they'll still offer trade-in money until it reaches "vintage" status.
