I'm on the uk upgrade program now and my payment date is the 22nd of the month. If I change the payment date with Barclays to say the 28th, do I still have to pay this month?

My understanding is that it takes at least one payment cycle for the date to be updated, so yes you still have to pay this month's by the 22nd. Confirming with Barclay's is probably a good idea though.
